I had a delightful find today - a large flock of chestnut-breasted mannikins on bullrushes that were letting go of their fluff.

Here are a couple more
Aren't they cute, they're about the size of a sparrow??
Wow, great results with these tiny birds. I tried to get some when we were at the Sunshine Coast a couple of years ago and failed miserably.

Beautiful shots Birdgirl of some wonderful little subjects !

Wow Birdgirl you are taking some amazing shots!
I also love the 5th one - the tuft of feathers mirroring the tufts from the bullrush is just gorgeous.
Thank you, it was a great find to have the birds and the bulrushes - I was getting covered in fluff because the wind was blowing my way. I could only approach from that side and they were nicely backlit. The camera had a real battle because I had to hide and the brisk breeze was blowing reeds back and forth in front of them all the time
Absolutely beautiful Birdgirl.
