I spent Easter on a property about 130km north-west of Bourke. The number and variety of birds was amazing, I saw lots of species for the first time. It wasn't a birding trip but I managed to take heaps of photos. Some of them aren't the best but they show the variety so I thought I'd share them. Enjoy!

I'd only ever saw one of these Kingfishers before and that was at Lake Eyre and quite a distance away so I was pretty excited to see this one.

Nice find Akasha..... have to admit I have never heard of one till now! I love peaceful doves etc, their patterns are so lovely.

Nice pics akasha. Looks like a good range of birds around that area. I have never seen a peaceful dove or a red backed kingfisher.
