My backyard

I sat in my backyard late this afternoon and watched about 30 little and long-billed corellas land in our gum trees. I thought they were settling in for the night, but they all left at once. I was watching their approach path and saw a BOP from my own backyard, which I think is a female nankeen kestrel. It seemed to be having a bit of a battle with a magpie or magpie-lark at one stage. I have posted a photo of my backyard to show the habitat

Great pics Birdgirl. The one withe the corellas in flight is great and lucky to get a kestrel over the backyard. I saw a sparrowhawk on my fence the other day chasing smaller birds but as usual I didn't have the camera with me and when i came back he had snuck off without a trace.
BTW.. nice backyard with all the gum trees and the bottle brush. Great habitat. Love the wollemi pine as well.

Cheers, Owen.

A BOP in your backyard. Now thats cool. And I so wish I had a big backyard like yours. I think I can spit from one side to the other of mine.

Thanks for sharing once again. Keep up the good work with that new setup you have :)
