Lovely shot there rjwaring, love the colours on the bird, they certainly are pretty for birds of prey! Yes thanks for sharing, I have seen them in my field guide but it certainly doesn't get across the colours and beauty, well done!

Birdgirl, you have to get to WA! Our family did 100 days in WA last year and we came close to seeing every bird of prey in Australia. In fact I think the Kimberley boasts that every Auys BoP has been sighted there. And with the gear you've now got, you would have a blast! I am lucky as my 6 year old never misses with IDs on BoP. Mind you, studying bird books non stop on BoP for 4 months helped! I love them too and yes, I am lucky, we get most types in Central Australia. I .ive in Alice Springs.
