I took my camera on my morning walk and didn't see a single thornbill today. But I enjoyed watchign the behaviour of a common bird. See how it has its toe curled around the ... flower?

They are wonderful to study aren't they? The NZ version of this is called a Pukeko and it has achieved almost cult status in the tourist souvenir world... because of it's quirky appearance and nature.
