I was so happy with what I saw yesterday I went back to the same place and saw different birds, including 2 I can't identify, so I'll need your help!
Eastern spinebill - what a sharp beak!
Eastern spinebill likes lantana
Grey fantail - after this it flew onto a branch above my head and was too close to photograph
Superb fairy-wren - non-breeding male

Birdgirl ripper shots again. whereabouts do you live? You don't have to say but I'm just wondering because brown headed HE's are very hard to find and seeing one in the suberbs is unbelievable.
Cheers, Owen.
More great shot, your on a roll, keep up the good work.

I love photography.
You've done it again the shot of the little fairy wren is an absolute gem!
I think my ears and eyes are open more than they were before. What can I say - the world is full of beautiful birds!
Owen1 - I am in the Hunter, near the end of the f3 freeway but just on a normal-sized block in a suburb.
Birdgirl another set of amazing photos.
Stunning shots - well done!
I love the SFW shot.
Birdie is spot on I think: Brown-headed honeyeater http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/species/Melithreptus-brevirostris
Golden Whistler: http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/species/Pachycephala-pectoralis
(but we don't have a good shot of a female golden whistler - hint hint)...
Holly
Thanks for the info birdgirl. the hunter sound very impressive for birds.
Cheers, Owen.
Lovely photos, well done on getting the spinebills as well! I remember when I first saw them down in SA they were so small and constantly moving I couldn't get a snap at all. Keep them coming Birdgirl I would love to see more :)
HI Birdgirl
love the shots I think they have nailed
the unidentified birds
Brilliant! Love the Fantail and the Brown-headed (although they're ALL good). I tried to shoot a Fantail over the w/e and failed miserably. Yours is outstanding. How do you get a Brown-headed down so low?
Cheers,
George

Hey it is great to see you both again Amateur and Dingo :')
George...was it you from memory that persuaded me to get a monopod and ...actually use it? I think it may have been. Anyway, thanks if it was and today I took it for a run and really got to know it and I am about to see the results. It felts really good and without it and without IS I am hopeless these days so keep your fingers crossed for me that it worked out as good as it felt LOL
