At the site I found, there are a lot of white-bellied sea eagles of different ages.
Juvenile - body is dark brown. It is carrying something in its beak
Getting older; the body is getting lighter
Immature - still some white in grey on underwing

beauties again birdgirl. Interesting to see all these clear images of different aged birds. thanx for sharing.
Cheers, Owen.
Nice ones Birdgirl......Hey you will have to change your name to Raptor Girl soon. :)
Tassie you make me laugh! Very appropriate but I still like other birds too. Have a look at my white-bellied sea eagle courtship thread - the first photo is my all time greatest birding moment
Did you camp out at the swamp Birdgirl??? You will have to build a humpy!!! Well done again
Great info for us on the different ages.

birdie the swamp was a fizzer. I saw a BOP over the distant hills and I think I saw a nankeen kestrel fly into a tree on the other (inaccessible) side of the swamp. The wind was so fierce I could not tell where the bird sounds were coming from over the rustling of the reeds.
This BOP site is on private land. I have to stand on the roadside, in long grass on the inside of the guard rail and put up with whiffs of the nearby dead fox
"...stand on the roadside, in long grass on the inside of the guard rail and put up with whiffs of the nearby dead fox" - how romantic :-)
Ahhh, there is nothing like a good whiff of dead fox :)
Yeah why should you get off easy.... Andy and I had to wade through soggy cow pats in very long rain soaked spongy grass last week!! Wasn't exactly ideal either! LOL
