they are usually in wetlands, i'm doing much of my birding on alcoa pits which were turned into nature reserves near our place....i haven't been to herdsman lake for quite some time now :)
So that must be inland from Pinjarra then aa? It is fantastic that they have turned it back into a wetland. I used to go down to Waroona a lot in my young days as my best friend was from there and we spent a fair bit of time visiting her family's farms around that area.
A farily common BOP here but I never get tired of seeing or photographing them. Great to see you here again - keep posting - I love to see your flight photos
NIce catch..what kind of habitat are you in when you see them aa? I know you used to get to Herdsman a lot, do you still go there?
