Thanks Araminta and Owen. The file reports the bird was 5 meters away. In my very limited experience also, they are usually very shy. This shot was taken through a car window. Perhaps it didn't associate the car with people.
Beautiful shot Geecee.... I have heard a few people on here say that they have used the car as a hide.... funny how you appear invisible to the bird when you are inside a huge tin can isn't it LOL

That's very true birdie. Spotted turtle doves will allow a close approach in the car but not on foot. Birds are also quite pushbide tolerant I've noticed as well.
CeeCee the shot doesn't look like it's through a window. It looks too sharp for that.

Thanks birdie. Sorry Owen, when I wrote 'shot was taken through a car window', I meant it was taken through the gap that the window would fill if it was wound up. Window was wound down. No glass between lens and bird.
