Light was dissapearing quickly but there was a sunset that brought out some beautiful colour in the sky.
Crested Pigeon
Caspian TernWith a big catch. A tailor I think.
Very slick design
Looking for fish
Pelicans Yes the colours are correct. Thats what it was like before anybody asks. :)
Great shots, I have seen colours like that over the water, so I know they are real!! I love Pelicans, they are the A 380 of the bird world ! ( the comparison I'm making, should tell you, I want to fly somewhere nice!)

Nice shots again. The bird in the water looks like either a gannet or a booby.
Cheers, Owen.
All great shots with the pair of Pelicans as my fave. Agree with Owen re the Gannet. Thanks for sharing.

Araminta: Yeah the scene was pretty surreal. There was a full moon, and the ocean and sunset behind me. Very special this planet of ours. (yes been watching a few space docos :). And I haven't been on an A380 yet but my wife has and she said it was smooth and quiet.
Owen, George: So are they all of a gannet or just the one in the water?

Ahh ofcourse. Just looked up gannet. You are right ofcourse. The yellow on top of the head give sit away. I didn't notice. Though it was same bird because when I was photographing the gannet he was really far away and the tern was closer to me.
Thanks guys for spotting that.

fantastic shots Alex.... glad someone picked up the gannet as I thought I was losing it at first trying to make that into a tern LOL
beautiful colours Alex.... isn't it great to get that beautiful colour palette naturally ? nature is amazing .

Your wife is right, I have been on an A 380 twice, it is smooth and quiet! And abeleski, you sound as romantic as me !! I love sunsets, full moon, and everything that goes with it! (du Champagne, des huitres , l'amour......), if you get my drift?!

birdie: yes nature is just fantastic.
Araminta: all but the des huitres. Will give them a miss :)

Love the colours and especially #5 and #6 flight photos
Nice series Ace. Your Caspian Tern looks like an Australasian Gannet to me. Have a closer look! :) Cheers mate.
You are right Windhover. Owen and George already picked up on it and let me know. I will pay more attention next time. :)

Ooops Ace. Sorry, I didn't read the other posts, if I did I would have no time left for other things. :( I sometimes do though in case someone notes thins. Sorry again.
Absolutely on the contrary Akos. I appreciate and encourage people to give me feedback and especially when I make errors in identifying birds.
You are an inspiration actually. You obviously know your birds but you are also an excellent photographer so I have been trying lately to use your technique of shooting to the right. I have always actually been underexposing because I know my nikon is better at regaining detail from darker areas during PP then blown out highlights. This does lead to noise at times though. I am still learning and experimenting as you can see.
No need for appologies.
Thanks.
