I thought I'd share this image with ya'll. Taken while away on business (while I had some free time) on the north coast of NSW. Almost a full frame shot.
It's hard to appreciate the beauty of these birds at such small jpeg sizes. :-(
Scroll down the page for the gorgeous shot - Holly :)
is it just me?? I can't see your bird! You said it was small, but not "that small"? (Well, I didn't think you would use "that kind of language" , like " ya'll !! Hmmmm?)

..tried again, as you said, ----it's hard to appreciate the beauty, if I can't see it! What am I doing wrong?

Windhover and I are trying to see what is going on - its not just you guys :)
TRY THIS.
That is better Akos..... now tell me ...what was the dragon fly eating ??? Just joking, superb catch and I guess you could only get that with heaps of magnification.
Hey why does that RBE seem to only have one tail streamer?
Glad you got time to get out and do some shots while you were on business too.

It was worth the wait Windhover - gorgeous :)
Great shot and good timing with the dragonfly. They are wonderful birds and I loved hearing their calls the two times I ever saw them in Brisbane.
Cheers, Owen.
Thanks and sorry for the slight technical glitch. Adrienne, I suspect this bird has been nesting. The central tail feathers break easily when going in and out of burrows. :-)
What a great shot. Perfect timing. I bet you are loving the lens
THanks everyone.
Kim, this is the old 300/4L and converter. INcidentally, yes love the 500 and the 1DMkIIn i just received today in MINT condition. I cannot wait to use the two together. :) That will be a KILLER birding combo.
Oh dear..... poor choice of words there Akos ;') LOL

.....you are sooooo funny , birdie !! We are waiting to see the.....combo in action!

Great shot, our rainbow bee eaters have not been around for a while, the council mower men accidentally destroyed a nest right outside our back gate not sure if that will have scared them away?
