Dan Stiller reserve is West of Brisbane near the suburb of Forest lake. We have visited the reserve 9 times and seen 70 species in total This morning's walk was in the western, forested section. One of the features of the park, bird-wise, is a White Bellied Sea Eagle nest. There is at least one chick it it this year.
Sea Eagle Mum/dad
Sea Eagle Chick - yes, you can just see its little white head, roughly in the middle of the pic
Zoomed in - a bit blurry but somewhat easier to see
Sacred Kingfisher, seen just as we were about to enter the park.
Another one seen inside the park.
Pacific Baza
Great shots Tinmarg, just love the sacred king fisher, stunning colors.
Hi timnmarg, it's so interesting that you posted this - I have just been looking at the reserve on the net and am hoping to go there soon. So it's great to hear that you saw so many birds (including a Sea-Eagle!).
Andy, If you can join Eremaea Birds http://www.eremaea.com and message me from there with your email address, I can send you a mud-map of the eastern side and some additional information like best access points. Unless of course there is a way to do pm's in this site.
Hi timnmarg,
You can email me at
(I don't mind giving that address out; it's not my main email address).
Yes I would love to have some info regarding the reserve. Do you post on eremea? I look at it every day.
Thanks,
Andy.
Nice shots and great find with the Baza.
Cheers, Owen.
Some nice catches there timnmarg

Great finds, especially the baby and the Pacific baza. I've seen a pair once only, and would love to again
