Situated in Logan City, a few kms south of Brissy, these wetlands are an old sand mining site. Logan city council has rehabilitated the site with massive plantings of natives, and good paths throughout. The pix:

Very cool...
I was talking, to a guy who does bird caring, about this place earlier in the year. It sounds nice - I'll have to get down there some time.
Cute cygnets - I saw some of these down at Oxley Ck Common last year, but it's still closed sadly, after the floods.

Tim,
Oxley common is now open although there is quite a bit of rubbish still on the side of the track. The trees do not seem to have suffered greatly and the birds are returning.
The council has done a nice job - lovely shots!

Great to see the council doing such a good job to attract the birds
Berrinbah is a lovely area we used to enjoy going there to see the bird life before we moved north, we have a feast of birds in our own backyard now so can't complain.
