They're great shots of beautiful birds.
.
I was very excited to see a pair of Pale-Headed Rosellas checking out my nesting box for a while this morning, but I'm not sure if they stuck around or not.
Thanks everyone, for your nice comments.
Tim, have you had Rosellas in your nesting box before? (you might have told us about it before, but I forgot?) Just interested, how long it fakes for birds to accept a box? Not that I would need them, there are plenty of hollows in trees around where I live. M-L
Mum just turned up with three of her young, they do know how to feed themselves, but from time to time she gives them some seeds, then walks off. That is the reason why we dont cut the gras often, even if they are only weeds, the King Parrots and Rosellas, (and the fire tails) love them. M-L
No, I haven't had any birds nest in there yet.
It's been up for about a year, and I've seen a couple of pairs check it out, though. Or the same pair a couple of times, who can tell?
.
I have noted that the Noisy Miners tend to give the Rosellas a bit of a hard time around here too. I also don't have a great deal of seeding native grasses, but am intending to plant a bit more.
Mum's probably saying rack off and fend for yourself by now :^D
Great shots love the colours.
Cheers, Owen.
You are so lucky to have those amazing colours in front of your kitchen window....great shots again!
