help identifying

we just found this baby bird in our backyard and its parents have abandoned it, does anyone know what it is? and what we would feed it?

Hi Haleyhanns
.
Identifying where you are will probably help a fair bit in narrowing down what the bird might be. A better/different photo showing the size and features of the bird might help too.
.
Those big feet make me think it could be a ground dwelling bird, but I have very little to base this on.

It is a baby blackbird and the parents do not abandon healthy babies. The bird should be returned to where you found it and if you have not handled it too much, they will find it and look after it again. Baby birds of this age leave the nests and this is part of the process of learning to fly and forage.

we found it in our backyard, if we hadn't picked it up our dogs would of eaten it. we put it in a nearby tree and it managed to fly into our next door neighbours yard where the parents had gotten to it, so its all safe now :) thanks for all your help!!
