Where can one find books about Australian birds?
I dont mean field guides, I mean more detailed birds about particular bird groups or species.
Eg books on Australian owls, hawks, parrots etc
Any ideas? Cant find any on Amazon or other online bookshops and most general book stores only carry the field guides.
The Ausbird site has some listed

The Australian National History series by CSIRO publishing has books about the biology of a number of Australian animals including several birds. I have the magpie and platypus books, and they are fantastic.
Other birds featured are herons, wedge tailed eagles, frogmouths, cockatoos, albatrosses and bowerbirds.
The website is:http://www.publish.csiro.au/nid/22/sid/48.htm
marj - the problem is finding the books from that list :)
Thanks for the replies, Im checking out the sites now
Once you have a title, finding the book gets a little easier. I do most of my book shopping through alibris.
