At present in suburban Sydney we are suffering a plague of mosquitoes following recent wet weather. I have upturned every container which allows water to collect, including the water containers I leave out for the birds. I heard recently that the mosquitoe larvae can breed in only a couple of mls of water. Now I have a dilemma. Don't want to encourage mozzies but do want to encourage birds. Any thoughts?
By all means put water out for the birds but empty and refill it every day. This will get rid of any wrigglers. Ray
