Magpie Lark Poop

I have just puchased a lovely timber outdoor setting and have a german shepard in my back yard. Magpie larks keep pooping all over the wooden furniture and the dog wont chase them away.

Is there anything i can buy to keep the birds away from this area?

Hi ebaydj, what a nice dog you have. Here is my suggestion, cover the furniture with some (ugly) plastic while you aren't sitting on it!? Run around the table, waving your arms frantically like a helicopter!? The truth is, I don't have any idea!LOL

Nope didnt work they came back. My father in-law suggested hanging old CD's around on fishing line. Seems to have stop the little buggers for now. Must invest in a lion next time instead of the German Shepard....He is good at keeping people out but share his biscuits with the Larks.

Hmmm, there is a winery not far from us, they have those Gas-guns, they go "booom" from time to time.Scares the hell out of everyone, and your neighbours will love you for it! ....next idea?

It's me again ebaydj, I have done some more investigating, my clever husband said: hang some empty tins filled with gravel on fishing lines, feed the line through your window. Then watch out for the birds!! As soon as you see any, pull on the line, and wiggle the tins. They will rattle and make a noise to frighten the birds. (All you have to do now, is to find some person you can convince to sit behind the window all day!)

Try a rubber snake on the table mate, I know that it does work in some cases.

Get a Jack Russell.... if your Shepherd is anything like my old one... he'll hate it and chase it round the yard all day! LOL
