Fledglings are hiding

This time of the year the fledglings are out.
It is natural for people wanting to help when they find baby animals, they think are on their own. Every year hundreds of baby birds are accidentally removed from their "hiding places". People pick them up thinking they are abandoned, but the parents close by. Consider this please, most fledglings can not fly when they first leave the nest, and tend to sit hidden in the grass or at the base of a tree. They might still have to grow their flight feathers. They may be out of the nest, but that doesn't mean they are abandoned. The parents will be roosting in a tree nearby! If the bird is not insured, it's best to leave i hiding. Even if the bird is insured, it's important to remember the location where the bird was found, so it can be returned later.
Please think about this, before you pick up a baby bird.M-L

Araminta, obviously it's wise to be insured in case you're injured.
