Can anyone identify this bird please! It is fairly large, about the size of a Magpie but slightly longer. Our local Honeyeaters are very protective of it. Not sure if it is a young bird or fully grown.

Hi Almich43, also see other thread, your poor old local HEs have been conned, the are raising a young cuckoo.

Thanks Ed, I looked at the list of birds but couldn't find it. Will have another look. It truly is a very pretty bird (Cuckoo) but has a very high pitched whistle? and it is driving us all nuts. Is this common for other birds to look after another species? I know that the Kohl lays its eggs in another birds nest.
Anyway, thank you again.

Looks like a juvenile koel to me.
Thanks everyone, I did have a closer look at the pictures of the Koel birds and the picture of the juvenile bird is just like my photo, we hadn't seen a juvenile Koel before, many thanks again.
