Hi there Koko, lots of Kookaburras here in Belgrave area... this one taken today in Sherbrooke forest. Funnily enough people I went with (actually lyrebird-spotting) are from Oakleigh, they were blown away with all the kookas we saw today so I'm guessing one in Oakleigh is a rare sight/noise. Only saw 3 lyre-birds and too quick for a photo!
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
I presume you mean kookaburra.
Huntingdale golfcourse is close by and I have seen kookaburras there but it was many years ago.
So it is possible.
Geoff.
