We have a tonne of these birds on the property and today I thought I would take a snap shot for ID purposes. I was thinking Satin Flycatcher??
Thanks,
Deano...

From the shape of the tail I would say its a swallow, maybe welcome swallow. What is the location?
Nice photo.
That one is definitely a Welcome Swallow.
Judging on the tail.
And a juvenile one at that
Hey Deano, you ,must be one of the only people I have seen on here that has managed a "snap" of a welcome swallow in flight that looks that good! Great catch, well done.

The location I took this shot is at Glendonbrook, near Singleton NSW.
Thanx for the great complement birdie, if only I had decent "birding" lens this pic may have been even better, there are always around 20 that play over the water everyday only 20m from my front doorstep so getting this shot was that touch easier, although it took over 100 to get 5 half decent shots!
Hah Deano
Get in the queue for that one. Many of us here are waiting for the "great birding lens" to become a possibility. In the meantime we just do as you do and make the best of it.

I'm in the queue and should be served around March 2011!!
Here is another shot from that day!
Cheers,
Deano!
Amazing shots! The Welcome Swallows used to nest around the eaves of my schoolhouse. They never came into the bush were our family's house was - they stuck to open spaces, paddocks and townships.
