Hi Everyone,
I have no idea what a group of six birds I saw today was. I am new to identifying anything other than parrots and some really familiar birds.
I saw one of these birds land in the high branches of a dead gum tree. It clacked it's beak several times and a group of five then flew in.
A sulphur crested cockatoo was in the same tree.
these six birds were about the size of noisy miner birds.
the colouring was brown with mottled brown/white underside.
a light white to grey coloured brow
the beaks were not long or curved.
there was not really anything remarkable about them.
Wollemi
these could be wattlebirds as they can attack larger birds
Cheers, Owen.
Thanks Owen after reading up and viewing several photos of the Little Wattlebird I agree it is what I saw.
Thank you.
Wollemi.
Happy Birding!

no worries wollemi.
sometimes i see wattlebirds and for a second or two i think whats that bird? then i realise it is just a wattlebird. they can sometimes be hard to confirm as wattlebirds because of their subttle plumage
Cheers, Owen.
