Here is another one for the keen BIBY members.
I am a smallish bird and live near the coasts of Australia from the SW to around Cairns with several races. Some have yellow rumps, some not. I mostly feed high in eucalypts and you will most often detect me from my wheep-wheep kind of gentle piping calls. I am a very cute little bird. Here is my eye.
What's my name?
pardalote?
There are four species of pardalotes.
I'll take a stab and say its a female spotted pardalote
Just for the sake of the other option, I'll take male spotted pardalote. Because really, how can you tell the gender from just the eye? It could still be a male even if there is no yellow in that picture.

Hey,
Wampy said first Spotted Pardalote. So you win this round. It is technically a male as I have the original photo here:

Well done both of you. I will try harder tomorrow to get a longer battle of the wits. :)

Splendid photo, Windhover. The details on each barb of feathers is absolutely stunning. Have no idea how you managed to get so close and get a great focus for the shot. The yellow is so brilliant, it looks at though it was painted on the pardalote.
Good job Wampy :)
