Help in identifying bird

Usually see this bird early morning and late afternoon. Lives in and around reeds and dam. Seems to eat small grasshoppers on Singapore Daisy plants. Tail twitches prominently. Believed to be a type of waterbird. Runs fast across ground and can fly small distances just above ground.

See photo attached for colours and size. Have looked at Readers Digest Complete Book of Australian Birds with no success as yet - 1st Ed 1976.

Hi, your photo doesn't seem to be displaying properly here but I could view it via the link I received in my email notification. It's a Buff-banded Rail. Lovely bird.
