Found this one in NE Victoria - Milawa (near Wangaratta) and can't make up my mind what he is. Doesn't look like my usual honeyeaters with the white eye and pink beak.

Looks like a very young Black Chinned Honeyeaters. The only thing that pointed to it not being a Brown-headed HE is the blue patch above they eye that only the Black-chinned has.

You could be right. I had this pegged for a juvenile (there will be a lot of them about at this time of year) but I had no idea what sort of honeyeater it might be.
The blue doesn't seem to be dark enough for a BCHE, but that could be because it's so young ??
