Hello, I live on a semi rural property on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. We have a vast variety of birds that visit here & I like to try to identify all that I see or hear. I recently found this website while trying to identify a bird that was extremely vocal, and the audio recording helped me to confirm that it is the Channel Billed Cuckoo. They have been regular here for the past month or so, waking us early with their raucous calls. I'd like to thank Birds in Backyards for this great ID tool!
Kind regards
Rene
Welcome Rene
Hope those Channel-bills aren't being too rambuncous for you. They will be heading off in the next month or so though.

Welcome Rene, (my son's name is Rene, but I still don't know how to put accents on,I know there should be one on the e )Same as everyone else,I'm waiting to hear more from you! Is it sunny in Queensland? :-) Or is it raining? :-(

Marie-Louise, you can use Word to do that. Not sure if web browsers let you though. I just type in Word then copy to the browser:
press: CTRL + '
release keys
now press e (for captials just press SHIFT then the letter)

Thanks Akos, I will keep it in mind, Today it's very HOT at my place, next time I will try! I'm listening to my scanner, there is a fire close to us,have to keep an eye on it! ( the old chook is not that good with computers!) :-)

Hi and Welcome Rene
Whereabouts are you up here? I live in Buderim and yes we have the CB Cuckoos too, though they have been quieter lately as I think most of them have "done their deeds" by now LOL
I got a close up look at one when I was up at Woodgate and it left such an impression of me as it was much bigger than I had imagined and so unusual looking.
cheers
