Just thought I'd say hi to all the old regulars and say ...where are you?
This seems to be a very quiet time of year over the last few months with fewer contributors. Even our FNQ friends are fairly quiet up there... is it the heat and humidity? Have you all gone troppo? :'D
Hope you are all going OK! Look forward to hearing from you soon.
And I do wish Denis would pop back for a chat. I've checked his BLOG so he is still around, which is the main thing.
Cheers to all

Hi Scruffydude, thanks for replying. I've never seen the photo thread so quiet as it is at the moment. Shame about the camera. But if they're anything like my whipbirds I still can't get a shot when they are right under my nose! they would have to be the shyest birds I've come across. As for King Parrots, I hear them every day but never catch more than a fleeting glimpse as they fly over

Well, I haven't been able to spot some good shots this year so far :( I hope I can go to the local reserve next weekend which is abundant with ducks and cormorants and lots of bushlands for a great variety of birds. Yes, I miss Denis as well :( No-ojne there for those tricky ID's
yeah 'tis kinda quiet isn't it? my sister arrives from the UK on Tuesday and she is a birdnerd too, we are off to Queensland and Fraser island for a Thelma and Louise trip so hoping to get some good bird shots to share :)
On my dog walk tonight and yesterday I saw two Rufous fantails, stood watching for quite a while (until dog came back from park and barked impatiently for me to hurry up!) didn't have my camera but am going to head down there tomorrow with camera and without dogs (if I can sneak out without them seeing!)I have no shots of RF's so they are top of my list at the moment.
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
