Hmm, I saw some of those birds on Saturday in the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens.One clue, they are not native to Australia (I think European) To make a point: You can't judge a bird by looking at it's bottom!! LOL
European Goldfinch?
Yes, I would also say european goldfinch, but what would it be doing in a she-oak?
Congratulations Holly and cooee! It is a European Goldfinch. The photo is not very sharp,the bird flew into a different tree, much further away.
