These little guys go out of their way to star in as many shots as they can. Not sure if he's getting his first blue plumage or losing it after breeding.

Probably losing it after breeding, sawtellda. There's one around our house that is quite mottled now having produced, with a little help from his friend, at least a couple of young ones.
Agree with Headsie..the flash makes their blues really intense if you do it right. great shot!

Yep we are coming up to the end of their breeding season. I love the mottled look of the young males.
