I took this shot at Fogg dam in Darwin last year, I found a track to follow and was watching some double barred finches in the scrub. I stood motionless for a while hoping the finches would ignore me and come closer when all of a sudden this goshawk came out of the scrub and landed on a branch not far from me. He was to my left and I could see him out of the corner of my eye but I didnt want to move and scare him off so I slowly turmed to face him and he allowed me to get a few shots before flying off. It dosent happen very often but the sun position, light, background and distance were all perfect.
Mate !!!!! What a superb shot, this would have been one of those occassions you never forget and to get a shot that is fit for a postcard is an added bonus.
One of the most natural and best shots I have seen of the Goshawk, I would be framing it......Well done and thx heaps for sharing this one, love it.
