I love your photo of the Pacific Heron. I will never forget, when I looked at the first photos I took of one in breeding plumage, with the red on the wings, I thought the bird might have been attacked by a dog and needed help. Well, now I know, it's a perfectly happy bird.
Nice that you are showing us some of your great photos, thanks Akos.
I've noticed that I've been saying 'wow' a lot, but everyone is posting so many beautiful photos from all over the country.
This is an awesome shot, I love it! This is the best image quality I've seen yet on the forums. Great shot Windhover! Are you a professional photographer? Judging by your avatar you've got some serious equipment!

Hi Grohlster
No, I am just obsessed with wildlife photography. That's all. :-)
Hi there, is this also a white necked heron? Sorry, don't have an ID book!
Thanks in advance!
And lovely photo btw!
Great shot as usual Akos. Love that calling pose.
Cheers, Owen.
Thanks for looking.
Hendo, same bird. Officially now called a White-necked Heron, but I cannot stand that name. The previous name of Pacific Heron sounds so nice to me.
Once again a beautiful shot of a beautiful bird Akos ...... your obsessivenss is our gain :)
