Great news in my garden. Tonight I saw the Baby Bassian Thrush for the first time. And I thought there was only one lonely bird. Must have been wrong, if there is a young one. HaHa
I wanted to post some other photos I took today, but this is so exciting, I have to show everyone.
I hope the little one wil grow up strong and healthy and hang around my place. She was very shy and stayed under the shrubs, so the photos are not that good, but I'm very happy.
Wonderful shots Araminta, just wondeful. I too would be excited and hope it stays around for you. A beautiful bird.

These birds are very shy, in my experience. You did well to get photos of them at all.

It's wonderful this species is surviving where the introduced black bird has invaded. I'm interested in the long term survival of this species in your neck of the woods, Araminta.
Woko, any idea how long they live ? Mother Thrush has been here for the last three years, I have seen both of them today. You can be certain, I will keep an eye on them. There are less cats hunting now, after I intimmidated all the neighbours into building cat runs , (only minor threats involvedLOL)

No idea at all, Araminta, but probably an average Bassian thrush life.
It's interesting that your cat-owning neighbours have been compliant in building cat runs. Does this mean they have a degree of sensitivity to bird life?
Lovely pics with great detail of the bird. I don't see them around here. I am pleased to hear you are getting the cat problem solved. I don't own a cat but several gather here and cause shocking damage to the bird life. I don't know who owns them.

HaHa Woko, nothing works better than a few threats, like: cute little (killer) cat might have to be bailed out for $200 at the Shire Shelter.
