Yes, looks like a koel to me also. I get to see the male, which is all jet black, but rarely see a female or juvenile.

Hi singing yamada, sometimes, when the photo doesn't come up , you just have to sit back, relax and wait. It'll turn up soon, it always does.

Thanks I thought she was a kookaburrah at first but she loves the fruit tree and isnt bothered by the noisy minahs. I tought they had red eyes.
It is the black males that have the stunning red eye ... the females are incredibly pretty with the lovely markings. Where do you live singing yamada?
