This one was at Old Wallangarra Road near Tenterfield (Qld NSW border). Can't make up my mind about him at all. Any ideas?
I'm not certain either.
That really round ping-pong ball shape always makes me think of thornbills, but the eye doesn't match any of the thornbills.
The eye and the pinkish legs remind me of a white browed scrubwren.
Cheers Tim Brisbane
Tha patch of white on the wings says scrubwren to me - I'm not sure which type though.

It's a White-browed Scrubwren.

A young white-browed scrub wren? (Unwhite-browed at this stage of its life?)
Thanks for that - thought he looked scrubwren-y but couldn't get past no white eyebrows. I also thought of a thornbill but he didn't fit the bill there either. Nice little rounded profile he has, looks very ping-pong ball as you said, Tim.
