A small number of us here have decided to get together when we can to go on photowalks. This morning grohlster and I met at Lysterfield Lake Park and spent an hour wandering around together. However the birds were low in number and there was a film crew on the dam wall where we were going to cross to see some birds on the other side, so we couldn't go across. Suspect all the extra 'traffic' around meant that the birds had taken off earlier than they normally do. Don't know what they were filming. Anyway, here are a few shots from today. Light was low - the sun had reached the other side of the lake but not where we were so pics are a bit grainy.
Eastern Yellow Robin
superior fairy-wren - think it's a female
Two little black cormorants
Beautiful shots Kathie! I haven't looked at mine yet but my camera quality is far less quality so I doubt they'll be half as good.
Wait and see Jess. You never know what you might have achieved.

Looks like you made the best of the day and it's good just to be out and about, I love the Robins and Wrens.

Great shots Kathie, nice way to spend the day too. I love the 2nd shot of the Eastern Yellow they are such a lovely little bird. Can't wait to see yours Jess i'm sure you got some great snaps too.
I love the Eastern Yellow to Cath and Shane. I have some living on my property and they seem to like to watch me - just staying ahead but close enough for me to get some shots of them.

Yes Kathie I have noticed this behaviour from the Eastern Yellow Robins, one moment they are being elusive and the next they seem to be right near you and then head off to the fringes to keep an eye on you, it is good they do this otherwise I wouldn't have any photos of them.
