Well done Headsy, that is a band on the bird's leg, (well spotted Beef). You might want to investigate who banded this bird and tell them where you saw it.

Thanks I hope you enjoyed seeing this beautiful little bird. Yes it is banded, they mist net and catch these birds at Mornington and I reported my find to the researchers there.
