This pic was taken at Ilford, NSW on 25/7/08. I am fairly sure that it is a honeyeater. It has a yellow ring around the eye and a yellow streak that sweeps out from the eye. I should probably know what it is but for now it escapes me! If any of you bird gurus could help to ID him that would be awesome ;0)

Hi M-L, I don't think so but now I'm so confused with the Yellow faced honeyeater. I have several different photos taken at different times and locations and they all look different. The one at Ilford had an olive green back & wings, brown markings on the head, a yellow ring around the eye & a yellow line behind the eye (the ring & line do not meet).
All of the photos below are taken at South Maroota. Do you think they are all Yellow faced honeyeaters?

I think the first pic may be a brown headed honeyeater.
I was just going to say the same Greg, I was looking for a photo of one. (I do have one, but where? LOL)

and I think this is my guy, hope so anyway. Just read the description that Flegg gives, sounds like him. I think I need to get some more reference books!!
