Not the prettiest of perches, but I was really happy to get this shot of what I originally thought to be Black Shouldered Kite in the strong afternoon sun, but was corrected by my fellow birders the other day and was only too happy to have seen the Grey Goshawk . Along with the Black Shouldered Kites and Kestrels he was up on the powerlines and using them as a launch pad for forays into the cane fields nearby where the rodents were quaking I am sure
What a good shot, it is so sharp, you can even see the faint stripes in a light grey on his chest. And I love those big dark round eyes.
Great work.

This is a great shot and much sharper than on FB. You can see the stripes really well. Congrats on a terrific sighting and photo
Those eyes don't look they would miss seeing much and the talons ensure a kill. Nice and sharp too, Adrienne!

Ha ha Kim.... doesnt take much to be sharper than Facebook!!! it is good to post on here and see them looking better . I love to share with my friends too though.
Alison it was a large crop so I was happy that it resulted in a half reasonable shot, I normally wouldnt bother to crop something that much but it was a special sighting :)

Nice pic. I like that you can see detail in the feathers, and that big eye of his. Yes, his claws look very, um, practical.
