Ducks.....

I hope you don't find Ducks boring, I like them.

Early this morning I went to my local lake , to see if the rubbish had been cleaned. Looked pretty bad, will have to ring Melbourne Water. (they are very friendly and look after their lakes )

The Hardhead I saw last week paired up with a female Chestnut Teal, has moved on, couldn't find him. Must have decided he had to find a wife somewhere else. No Ducklings yet of any kind.

Here is what I saw, some Pacific Black Ducks, and a female Chestnut Teal stretching her leg.

What are you saying? There are some birds that are " a little bit boring"? In my opinion, a good photo can turn  the most "common bird" into something fascinating.

Love the photo of the Pacific Black Duck, the markings above and below the eye are so striking.
I've only been a member on here for a few months (only been posting on the forum for less than a week) but you always take such beautiful photos.

I just love to see the birds. Magpies and seagulls might be boring to a lot of people, but I photograph a different aspect everyday

Great pics with lots of detail.  Love it!  I love ducks too.  Such a variety we have too.

Oh yes...he is very beautiful , thanks for posting that .... I definitely have never seen one up here. I am not very good with ducks I have to admit, though I did see some nice ones when I was down at the hunter Wetlands a few years ago.

Stunning ducky photos M-L. I don't know that it is necessarily that some birds are 'boring', moreso I think we take many of them for granted - we see them all the time and so don't really appreciate how they look and how they behave.

I had a fantastic experience last week - we are helping 2 schools in Sydney with projects to make their grounds bird-friendly. One of the kids came up to me and said 'Holly, you know I never paid attention to birds before, I didn't notice that they were around - but now I see them everywhere, and they are great!' - what more can you ask for really... yes

Oops! Obviously that was me smiley I set up a test account to make some instructional videos for the site and forgot to log out of it last night...

Ha ha ha  Holly you had me going there for a moment !!  I have to say I am having the same experience with my friends too. And Facebook has a lot to do with it, as we share our bird shots there are those friends that just tune out but there are others that have started taking their own shots and posting them for me to ID. I think it is wonderful!!
