A bit Confused with this Fantail?

I thought this was a grey fantail but then my book shows without a yellow breast. I then thought it was a Mangrove Grey Fantail as my book shows it with a yellow breast but the map with the distribution doesn't really show it in the Melbourne area. Images on Google don't help as they seem to be all sorts of fantails on there.

Can anyone tell exactly which fantail this is?

Thanks in advance

Dave

My Pizzey guide says fawn to buff breast, maybe it is just a trick of the light.

Don't think so, I'm using a Canon 5D Mk3 and that usually gets the colours pretty exact but I supoose there is always the possibility I guess.

Thanks

Hi Dave, we had this discussion on a different Forum a while ago, it started  very heated arguments, and I do not want to go there again. All I can say, Grey Fantails come in various shades of colours, from a greyish brown, beige and some orange tinged bellies. The females are more brown than grey. I have a few different coloured ones in my own garden, but so far I would still say, there are no yellow- bellied Grey Fantails.

My vote is for a Grey Fantail

I have GF pics from north of Bris to Port Macquarie, NSW ans there is a variation in breast colour, rufous-cream-white.

I'll mark it up as a Grey Fantail and I note that it does look remarkably like the one in the bottom image. I wouldn't want to see any heated debates so thanks for your help.

I forgot to tell you, the photo of your Grey Fantail is great. The eyes of the bird look just beautiful.
