Thanks Karl, these were taken from the picnic area where we had the Gourmet breakfast, I also saw them mating so that nest I pointed out should be occupied by now. The only problem was that dog would not leave and scared them off several times.
Beautiful! We actually do have these living here but they only come out to pose when I don't have my camera with me. MOH did get a shot of one on the powerline out front yesterday but I haven't seen the pic yet. I'm not sure yet which variety of KF it is.
I've now seen the single pic Barry took but it was a blur. I think it might be a Forest Kingfisher. Watch out little birdie, I'm coming after you! (With my camera of course.)
LOvely shots Shane.... I got a few more from the cane fields of them and the ones ou showed me at the Lake came out OK...just not close enough to be great though.
That dog, although she was very sweet should really be locked up in an area like that... what a pain having her chase away all the birds
