Can someone please help ID this bird from Ipswich near Brisbane?? The small hook on the end of bill may indicate an immature butcherbird?? Even Mrs Steve is stumped!!
Many thanks in advance
Steve

Looks like a Little Shrikethrush mate.
Whereabouts in Ipswich was it seen? This will help greatly.
Cheers, Owen.
Many thanks Owen - saw it at Flinders Plum picnic area with a whoole flock of scarlets - just as you walk up the track through the gate from the car park.
Steve
Yes, there is some wet forest around there which is the favoured habitat of these birds.
Cheers, Owen.
+1 to Little Shrikethrush
Peter
I got a photo of one just like yours recently and was told it was a Little Shrike-thrush. I have been to Flinders Plum Picnic area a few times and got some good photos there, be careful of the snakes and look out for the Wedge-tailed Eagles that live up on one of the bluffs.
Regards
Shane
