These are great Matt. I still haven't seen the ones I can hear in the bush behind us, how lucky are you? Are both of them female? (sorry, I've stared at them for a while now, but staring doesn't help, but you can)
M-L , yes they were both female, again they were skylarking around the yard jumping half way up trees and chaising each other at one stage they both were under the house. They seem to come out the scrub when its been raining.
I'd be a liar if I said we had lyre birds on our driveway. But we do get galahs, magpies, red-browed firetails in season & the occasional western grey kangaroo.
Hey guys thanks yes its great to be able to enjoy all the birdlife around the house with out going far. This afternoon she returned and was not fased by me at all and came within 2 metres of me when I stood still, who would have thought that a bird could give that sort of a buzz
Wow how lucky are you Matt. I also agree with Hollys comment they certainly are some special backyard birds. Great photos and i hope they keep visiting. I think we would all get a buzz if something that special was visiting our driveway.
Such gorgeous "chooks" as my husband calls them! I rarely see them, but I love to listen for their vocalisations when lucky enough to get out of the city for a day.

Matt
Bragging rights in your driveway, Matt. What is it about the rain that has brought them back to your house do you think?
Thanks for sharing Matt, your lucky to have them mate. I agree with Holly's comment :)
Me too - I bet hardly anyone can say they have them on their driveway

I managed to get my first shots of some last week, they are very hard to take photos of, makes me admire yours more.
