Lyrebird

When a friend from up the road called to tell me he has Lyrebirds on his property, I was there in a flash. I sat on a log and waited for a very, very long time. When he appeared, he almost didn't see me, and wasn't worried about me. Took a few photos, here are some.

The bird was that close, almost too close.

thanks Matt, if you have a close look at the eye of the bird in photo No3, you can see me sitting on the log .

Given that you've been waiting a  long while to see a lyre bird in your neck of the woods I can understand your haste to get to your friend's place. (It's great that you have someone who, I presume, is an ally in your neighbourhood). The haste was well worthwhile. They're lovely shots.

Fabulous - what a thrill to get so close to such a beautiful creature and come away with such outstanding shots. Well done and thanks for sharing.
