I struggled to capture a decent picture of the Reed Warblers for weeks because they move so quickly and then this weekend they were everywhere and posing. I believe that they are all Clamorous Reed Warblers from two places in Sydney --- the Warriewood Wetlands and Olympic Park. sue
Great shots Sue. I first saw one of these only a couple of weeks ago when out on a bird photowalk with Amarinta. I'd not seen one before and will be trying to get closer shots too.

Cute birds. I don't think I've ever seen them.

Thanks for the feedback. This seems to be the time to get a photograph as they are very active. Most of the time you can hear them really well but have great difficulty locating the source and geting any sort of picture as they are in the reeds.
Yes, they are great photos. (where you close, or do you have a very long lens?
Kathie and I saw one today close to us, but it got away quickly.

Yes as I finally have my long lens (Sigma 150-500mm) back from repair (under warranty thank goodness), it was in use and they are cropped. However, although the middle bird was distant, those in pics 1 and 3 were relatively close. Pic 1 was well out of the thick reeds and hopping from one stem to another in an open area of the pond not far from a path. It spent considerable time getting at the flower head even bending the reed down to water level. Pic 3 was one of a pair and spent a long time out of the thick reed bed and on a mud area... flitting in and out but always coming back to sit in the open. In both cases the birds ignored me. I have not observed them spending so much time in the open over the past few months.
