Unusual updates

As this seems to be the main forum that members frequent, I just wanted to advise you all that the unusual resurrections of older posts is nothing to worry about  ( as in Spammers or dangerous links)

Holly is aware of the events and is looking into it.

Sadly, we have had several long term and valued members including my co-moderators Cath and Shane and also Tassie  leave the forum due to recent events. As they have permanently deleted their accounts this has resulted in an auto update from every thread they had been involved in . If members just delete the email notification from their in box then that will sort it out for you.

Unfortunately it means that some really interesting photos and lots of good knowledge have been deleted and this could be a timely reminder for members to treat others with respect and courtesy and let each member have their turn at posting regardless of the quality of the shots and the amount of knowledge they have. This forum was never meant to be and still isnt a photographic competition and has always been about sharing what members see and helping eachother with knowledge and hints about the experience.

It is good too, to remember that  there are lots of other forums here...not just about photography where the experience can be shared and ideas discussed.

Thanks Birdie. I'm sad to see this has happened. I missed whatever it was that occurred, but perhaps it's just as well.  I love being here and found out about this forum through the Australian Photography Forum that I belong to.

Thanks birdie,

I think every one will miss Cath and Shane and Tassie they have been valued by me  for sure. I joined this forum to learn from others and that I am grateful for, and I stayed here because there was no caustic or egotistical remarks and everyone seemed to be treated at  the same level and if a mistake was made there was no cynical reprimand just a soft lesson about where the mistake was. This is a wonderful way to learn and encouraging. So your words are timely and not cynical and I hope the forum follows these principals or then it just evolves into a missed opportunity for all those that want to learn from each other.

Regards
