hi guys and girls - first time on the site and just need a little help or advice please. For the past 3 years we have had sunbirds come and try to make a nest on one of our window flyscreens. They bring all sorts of foliage and try to peck the stuff into the screen to get the nest started. It all falls out onto the floor but they keep trying for weeks before they eventually go away and come back next year!
They are back again now and have been trying for about 2 weeks to no avail.
Anyone got any advice on how I can help them get started on this years nest? I am sure there must be something I can put on the screen or similar but everything I have tried in the past has failed
thanks, Tony H
Hi Tony, hang a length of wire from the eave in front of the screen with a "hook" in the end. An unravelled coat hanger would be ideal.
