We have a red bottlebrush near our deck. Sunday I was lucky enough to sit here for several hours on and off.
Many different species visited, photos aren't much good, but heres a couple anyway.
Species include - Superb Fairy Wrens, Little Wattle Birds, Silver Eye (appear to be young), Yellow Throated Honey Eater (not a good pic.), New Holland Honey Eater, Brown Thornbill, Tasmanian Thornbill, and a couple I could not identify, nor photograph.
Thought M.L. would like mum and baby Superb Fairy Wren (unfortunately the auto focus picked the flower!). We have I think about 6 active breeding pairs, and are lucky enough not to have many predators - no magpies or minors, kookaburras don't come that close to the house, and pretty much anything else is frightened by the masked lapwings. Often see families feeding near the deck.
Unable to get close enough for some of the little birds, need a bigger zoom I think
O, how lovely, I envy you. I haven't had any young wrens yet. Last year they were everywhere. But, there is some more time left. My Bottlebrush looks like yours, just about to burst into flowers. Just like you, I'll be sitting there with my camera , waiting for the birds.
Those are some lovely photos, the second wren looks pretty sharp, I think you could crop that a little bit? Have you tried ? You got close to the Honeyeater, just that there are some leaves infront of the bird. Be patient, wait until the bird is close enough and nothing is infront of the bird. (have a glass of white or red while you are waiting)
You have lots of gorgeous birds in your garden, keep up the good work, and nice of you to think of me, thanks.

Fantastic, Dale! What a variety of birds.

Beautiful Dale, and still sharp, because the focus is nicely on the bird.
