We live on mid north coast NSW and have Whipbirds nest in our garden. Normally they are the Eastern Whipbirds with the white neck markings. This year there is one without any white at all and is an olive green colour. I haven't been able to get a photo ... yet :)
Any ideas as to what type this is?
It has to be a Juvenile, they are olive-brown, and lack white cheek stripes and dark throat.
How lucky are you, to have a nest would be one of my dreams.

We thought it was maybe a juvenile as it calls out and doesn't get the reply from the female. I don't know if there are any nests because they are usually fairly elusive ;) That was the other reason we felt maybe a juvenile, because it is quite happy to come in very close as we sit on the verandah - I never seem to have the camera ready though!
We have a Satin Bowerbird nest outside our dining room window which we love to observe too.

is that? I am soooo envious. There are Bowerbirds where I live, a friend has some, but haven't seen any around my place

I should have said BOWER not nest ... oops! I do have som piccies of the bird and bower somewhere ... I'll try to find them :)
